Content Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

 Responsible for creating and developing digital solutions for the City of Rosenberg. This position demands visual design skills, along with advanced knowledge of new media technology, software and trends. This position works with the communications manager to craft online communications and digital projects. Will perform project management and creation of high quality new media to support the City of Rosenberg.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates with the communications manager to ensure brand standards are present and consistent in all materials and communications; both internally and externally
  • Manages multiple projects independently with established deadlines
  • Provides project management to maintain and upload content to support City of Rosenberg’s social media outlets and city website

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in technical communications, emerging media, marketing, or closely related field
  • One (1) year of work experience in communications and digital content
  • Demonstrated strong writing and presenting skills
  • Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software and videographer equipment
  • OR
  • Some secondary education in technical communications, emerging media, marketing, or closely related field
  • Five (5) years of paid work experience in communications and digital content
  • Demonstrated strong writing and presenting skills
  • Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software and videographer equipment

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of the following pre- employment checks:
    • Criminal background check
    • Documented fingerprint identification
    • Possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
