GIS and Mapping

Welcome to the City of Rosenberg’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) home page.  The GIS Department is a member of the Community Development family though we serve all City departments and citizen requests involving geographic data and mapping.  The GIS Department responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data Creation
  • Data Collection
  • Quality Control
  • Data Maintenance
  • Data Storage
  • Data Dissemination
  • Cartographic Presentation
  • Data Query
  • Data Analysis

To aide in the achievement of these responsibilities the GIS department utilizes an enterprise level SQL database; ESRI products such as ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS for Server, and ArcGIS Online; a pair of Trimble Geo 7X GPS Units; and an Epson T7270D large format plotter with scanner.
