 FM 762 Southbound lane closure:

April 29, 2017: TXDOT  will be closing one southbound lane on FM 762 Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

 Jennetta Street Reconstruction:

April 24, 2017: the contractor will be closing Jennetta at Old Richmond Road and also at Avenue H on Monday April 24, 2017 to reconstruct the southbound lane of Jennetta. The northbound lane is complete and will be used for access and egress from Avenue F for Jennetta residences and businesses. Emergency vehicle and trash pickup access is coordinated for Jennetta. Jennetta will remain closed for several weeks until the reconstruction is completed.

March 20, 2017: The reconstruction of Jennetta Street is scheduled to begin Monday, March 20, 2017.

March 7, 2017: Jennetta remains one-lane southbound only from Old Richmond Road to 90A. The project was delayed so that clay soil conditions found below Jennetta could be analyzed for a revised subgrade design. This is necessary to ensure the new concrete street will perform as designed with a full life cycle. The project is anticipated to start up again this week, weather permitting.

February 1, 2017: Old Richmond Road is now completely open from 8th Street to Lane Drive at 90A. Jennetta Street will now be reduced to one-way southbound from Old Richmond Road to 90A for reconstruction.

SH 36 lane closure at Hwy 59 bridge:

March 31, 2017:  Williams Brothers will begin the next phase on the SH 36 bridge at Hwy 59 on Friday, March 31, 2017. In this phase, the public will lose one southbound lane on SH 36 under the bridge. This will continue until the bridge work is completed. There will be two lanes under the bridge going south, the left lane will have mandatory left lane turns. The lane next to the mandatory left turning lanes will be an option lane.

One Way Pairs: (90A and FM 1640)

March 29 – 30, 2017: On March 29th and 30th , permanent traffic signals are scheduled to be installed on 90A and FM1640 at various locations. This will also include the intersections at SH36.

March 23, 2017: Beginning Thursday March 23,  2017, 90A westbound from Damon Street to Frost Street will have alternate outer lanes closed to reconstruct cross street intersections.

March 22, 2017: Beginning Wednesday, March 22, 2017 FM 1640 eastbound from Frost Street to Damon Street will have one left lane closed to begin reconstructing cross street intersections.

March 20, 2017: Frost Street will be changed to one-way southbound only between 90A (Avenue H) and FM1640 (Avenue I). FM1640 will also be reduced to one outside lane eastbound at Frost Street to allow for traffic merging from Frost. 90A /529 eastbound will be detoured to FM1640 while the pavement markings are set for the 90A/Frost/FM1640 transition. Police officers will assist with traffic control.

Also, 90A westbound will be closed to two alternate lanes on Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm to continue the second level of asphalt placement from Damon to Frost.

March 16, 2017: Beginning March 16th, 90A eastbound lanes from FM 529 to where it turns onto Frost Street will be closed 9:00 am to 3:00 pm while the contractor pours the control islands on 90A. Eastbound traffic from SH 36/90A will be detoured to Spur 529/  FM 1640 to continue eastbound.

March 16, 2017: Louise Street access is closed permanently at 90A. Damon Street can only be accessed from FM1640 until the access to 90A is reconstructed. Both Damon and Louise will remain two way within this block for entry and exit access from FM1640. TxDOT has low profile concrete barriers installed to prevent access to 90A during construction.

March 9, 2017: Today the FM 1640 (Avenue I) lane switch is currently under way. Traffic will be diverted onto the two newly paved lanes. A lane switch for 90A (Avenue H) is scheduled for Monday, March 13, 2017, during this period traffic will be moved onto the two newly paved lanes. A second switch will follow, to lay a second layer of asphalt on all lanes. There will be a short term lane closures at the transition ends of Millie and 529 to cut traffic over.

March 7, 2017: TxDOT continues to mill and overlay asphalt paving on 90A and FM1640 between Frost and Louise. The crossover block at Damon is under construction including the excavation for three detention ponds. The traffic light on FM1640 at Damon has been removed.

January 30, 2017: Avenue H (US 90A) and Avenue I (FM 1640) will be converted to one way traffic thoroughfares for construction and final configuration. Avenue H (US 90A) will be converted to westbound traffic flow and the limits will be from west of Millie Street to Frost Street. Avenue I (FM 1640) will be converted to eastbound traffic flow and the limits will be from Frost Street to Louise Street. The primary cross street will be 1st Street (SH 36), but any of the other cross streets between Frost Street and Millie Street can be utilized.

Walger and Mulcahy Street Reconstruction:

March 20, 2017: Weather permitting, the Road Reconstruction Project will begin March 20th on Walger and Mulcahy Street.  The roads will be closed to thru traffic during this time.  City staff will collect trash on Wednesdays, when the roadway is under construction.  Door hangers will be placed a week ahead of time to notify residents of the road construction.  We ask residents to find alternate routes during this time.

FM 529 and Junker Road closure:

March 6, 2017: Junker Road will be closed permanently beginning March 6, 2017. Union Pacific will be adding an additional railroad track to the existing two tracks. Since there will now be three tracks at the intersection of Junker Road and Spur 529, the trains could potentially cause further delays for drivers Union Pacific has decided to close the intersection permanently.

US 59 frontage road between Isleib and Cottonwood Church Road:

January 26, 2017: The US 59 frontage road between Isleib Road and Cottonwood Church Road will no longer be two-way traffic; the public will only be allowed to go north on the frontage road.

TXDOT will be closing the southbound, middle lane,  crossover at Cottonwood Church Road on 1-26-17 and it will remain closed until US 59 main lanes are built in that area. As of now the northbound crossover for Spur 529 will remain open.

US 59 entrance ramp before SH 36:

The northbound entrance ramp on US 59 (right before SH 36) is closed and will be closed for nearly a year. Traffic will be moved to the shoulder and the new ramp will be built in the next phase.
