Rosenberg Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association (RCPAAA) announced they will be hosting a Blue Ribbon Walk, a national event supporting our First Responders and their families. The First Annual Blue Ribbon Walk will be held on Saturday, May 30 at Seabourne Creek Nature Park, located at 3831 Highway 36 S in Rosenberg. The purpose of the walk is for the community to show how much they care about those who are always there for them in an emergency – First Responders.
The RCPAAA heard about the Blue Ribbon Walk on Facebook. Terri King started the Blue Ribbon Walk in Nebraska. Since then 13 states have signed on by hosting a walk in one of their towns. The RCPAAA is expanding the walk to Rosenberg. RCPAAA President Lauren Cortez stated, “This walk is our way of letting our first responders know they are a priority to us! Come out and help show how much our community cares and supports them”.
The walk consists of a one mile trek through beautiful Seabourne Creek Nature Park. At the end of the walk the RCPAAA will have hot dogs, chips and a soda available for $5.00 donation. The event will begin at 11:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. At 11:00 AM, there will be a pre-walk ZUMBA warm up. After the walk there will be face painting and a moonwalk for the kids. The RCPAAA invites the community to come out and show their support, have fun with the family and meet some of our first responders. Click here for more details…
