Traffic! Lane closures, detours, oh my!

 US 59 Northbound closed:

February 9th, 2017: Both of the US 59 northbound lanes will be closed Friday, February 9th and Saturday, February 10th from 9:00 pm – 5:00 am, traffic will be diverted to the frontage road. Police officers will be present to help traffic move along. This closure is to allow the contractor to hang beams at Williams Way.

US 59 Northbound inside lane closed:

February 8, 2017: The US 59 northbound inside lane will be closed from FM 762 – SH 99 from 9:00 pm – 5:00 am. This closure is so the contractor can bring a crane to set at Williams Way.

US 59 and SH 36 – Bridge Demo:

February 3, 2017: TxDOT will close the intersection of US 59 and SH 36 beginning 9:00 p.m., Friday, February 3rd, through Monday, February 6th at 5:00 a.m. Construction crews will be demolishing the US 59 southbound overpass and police officers will be present to direct traffic . No traffic will be allowed under the bridge.  Traffic will be detoured to Spur 10 and FM2218.

US 59 north and southbound between SH 99 – Reading Road:

February 2, 2017: There will be alternate lane closures on US 59 north and southbound lanes this Thursday, February 2nd between the time of 9:00am – 3:00pm. The limits of the closure will be between SH 99 – Reading Road. This closure will allow the striping contractor to go through the project and replace the missing buttons and reflectors throughout the construction project.

Old Richmond Road and Jennetta Street Reconstruction:

February 1, 2017: Old Richmond Road is now completely open from 8th Street to Lane Drive at 90A. Gonzalez Construction will begin to work on Jennetta Street reducing it to a one-way southbound from Old Richmond Road to 90A.

One Way Pairs (Avenue H and Avenue I):

January 30, 2017: Avenue H (US 90A) and Avenue I (FM 1640) will be converted to one way traffic thoroughfares for construction and final configuration. Avenue H (US 90A) will be converted to westbound traffic flow and the limits will be from west of Millie Street to Frost Street. Avenue I (FM 1640) will be converted to eastbound traffic flow and the limits will be from Frost Street to Louise Street. The primary cross street will be 1st Street (SH 36), but any of the other cross streets between Frost Street and Millie Street can be utilized.

FM 2218 and US 59 intersection:

January 26, 2017:  the intersection at FM 2218 and US 59 will be closed  from Friday 1/27/17 at 9:00 pm through Monday 1/30/17 at 5:00 am. No traffic will be allowed under the bridge; traffic will be detoured to Reading Road and SH 36.

US 59 Frontage Rd. between Isleib and Cottonwood Church Road:

January 26, 2017: The US 59 frontage road between Isleib Road and Cottonwood Church Road will no longer be two-way traffic; the public will only be allowed to go north on the frontage road.

TXDOT will be closing the southbound, middle lane,  crossover at Cottonwood Church Road on 1-26-17 and it will remain closed until US 59 main lanes are built in that area. As of now the northbound crossover for Spur 529 will remain open.

UPDATES, October 3, 2016:

The northbound entrance ramp on US 59 (right before SH 36) is closed and will be closed for nearly a year. Traffic will be moved to the shoulder and the new ramp will be built in the next phase.

UPDATES, SEPTEMBER 30:

TxDOT has scheduled lane closures for Monday October 3rd from Reading Road to Williams Way, on the north and southbound, inside lanes of I-69 to reset concrete barriers. The lanes will be closed from 9:00 p.m., Monday, October 3rd to 5:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 4th. Expects traffic delays during this period. Updated September 26

There will be alternate lane closures at the FM 762 entrance ramp at northbound US 59 on Tuesday, September 27th. Construction crews will be working from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.,. to repair the damaged asphalt on the ramp and in the main lane.

UPDATES, AUGUST 26:

FM 359 at US-90A: Closed for reconstruction and routing citizens to Harlem Road via US-90A or the Grand Parkway. If you have specific questions, call TxDOT at (281) 238-7900.

SH36 and US 59 intersection: Closed on Saturday, August 27th from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. One bridge deck will be poured on US 59. The goal is to stripe SH36 in order to provide the public with three lanes under the bridge, southbound. For more information, call TxDOT at (281) 238-7900.

Updates, August 9

US 59 Southbound at Reading Road CLOSED: Thursday, August 11 from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

US 59 Main Lanes: Right lane closed from Reading Road until FM 2218 on August 11 from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

US 59 AND TX-36: Closed nightly (9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.) from August 16th until August 19th

Old Richmond Road Detour:

Gonzalez Construction will implement a traffic control change for this Saturday to begin work on Phase II of the Old Richmond Road reconstruction project. Phase I between 8th Street and Jennetta Street will be opened to traffic. Old Richmond Road will be closed to through traffic between Jennetta Street and Sidney Street for full width reconstruction. The contractor is coordinating with local addresses for access. Barricades and signage will be in place for motorists to take 90A as the alternate detour. Jennetta Street will also become one-way only toward 90A in this phase to aid with traffic control. Please see the attached road closure and detour map. TxDOT Lane Closures – SH36 from Callender to I-69:
TxDOT announced they will have lane closures on SH36 from Callender Street to US59/I-69 in Rosenberg daily from 9:00 a.m., until 3:00 p.m. If you have specific questions about these projects, please contact TxDOT at 281-238-7900.

TxDOT Road Closure – Bamore Exit:
TxDOT has notified the City that the US59/I-69 southbound exit to Bamore Road was closed on Tuesday July 19th, and will remain closed for two years while the main lanes are reconstructed. The anticipated reopening date is July 18, 2018, for this exit. Motorists are asked to exit SH36 to access Bamore Road.
