This position will provide efficient and effective communication linkages between the public, departmental and other law enforcement personnel. Must possess the ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. The ability to quickly comprehend and communicate information received by telephone or radio communication. Ability to remain calm and functions effectively when dealing with upset, confused, hostile or frustrated individuals.
Must be at least age 20 and have a high school diploma or GED. Applicant must type a minimum of 40 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy. Must complete required courses in telecommunications offered by the Texas Department of Public Safety within the time frame specified by the Rosenberg Police Department. Applicants must pass typing test, CritiCall testing, oral interview, extensive background investigation, psychological exam, physical exam and drug screen.
PLEASE NOTE: Shift work is required for this position. Position is considered “Essential Personnel,” which requires being on duty to respond during emergency situations including, but not limited to, natural and/or man-made disasters.
