Crime Victim Assistance Program

The Victim Assistance Program receives funding from the Office of the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division ‘Victims of Crime Act’ (VOCA).

The goal of the Rosenberg Police Department’s Victim Assistance Program is to assist victims of crime and reduce the effects of short and long term trauma as a result of victimization.

Services provided by the Crime Victim Assistance Program:

  • Provide necessary needs to victims of crime
  • Notification of victim rights
  • Serve as liaison between victims, law enforcement, and social service agencies
  • Personal advocacy / support as necessary for:
    • Assistance with property return
    • Individual safety planning
    • Referrals to support agencies
  • Justice support and procedures, including:
    • Accompany victim to court
    • Assistance with application process for Magistrate Order for Emergency Protection and protective orders
    • Information on the status of the investigation
  • On-scene crisis intervention
  • Information and referral service for:
  • Community resources
  • Crime scene cleanup
  • Grief counseling
  • Legal aid
  • Crisis counseling
  • Assistance in filing for crime victim’s compensation through the Attorney General of Texas

Crime Victim’s Compensation

If you are a victim of a violent crime who has suffered personal injuries, or you are a surviving family member of a deceased victim of a violent crime, you may be eligible for crime victim’s compensation. To determine if you qualify, or you wish to receive an application, contact Crime Victim Liaison Irene Perez by calling 832-595-3739 Monday – Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
