Leisure Classes and Programs

The Parks and Recreation Department strives to provide the community with a wide range of programming for all ages and interests. All participants must complete and return a Registration Form and Liability Waiver [PDF] prior to participation in any class/program. Visit the Rosenberg Civic Center, 3825 Highway 36 South, Rosenberg, to register during regular business hours Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration fees may be paid with cash, check or credit/debit card. Please note that a 5% service fee will be added on to all credit/debit card payments.

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis. In some instances, class/program sizes may be limited, so register early. Conversely, some classes/programs may be subject to cancellation based on lack of attendance, therefore pre-registration is imperative. In the event of class/program cancellations, full refunds will be issued. If you withdraw from a program prior to the start date, a refund will be issued. However, if you withdraw once a class/program has started, no refunds will be allowed. Registrations occurring after a course’s start date, as well as pro-rated fees, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Becoming An Instructor

Are you interested in holding classes in Rosenberg? The Parks and Recreation Department is always looking for instructors to expand our Leisure Activities! If you’re interested in becoming an instructor, please complete a Program Use Request Form [PDF]. Other forms for review and consideration include:

***Interested parties must be able clear a Criminal History Check to participate. The City of Rosenberg considers Leisure Instructors to be “contractors” and does not provide benefits or withhold taxes.

**NEW** Co-ed Adult Kickball League($)

Co-recreational kickball leagues are offered during the spring, summer and fall seasons. Team entry fee is $270 and individual fee is $20 (includes umpire fees). Registration fee includes a 10 game season plus a single-elimination playoff.  All games are played on the softball fields at Travis Park and Macario Garcia Park.  The 2017 spring registration session runs February 13 through March 24. All adult kickball leagues are sanctioned by the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation and the United States Adult Kickball Association.

  • All players must be 16 years of age or older to be eligible
  • Games are on Monday Nights
  • Roster spaces are limited to 18 players
  • At least 3 females must take the field at all times.
  • Game Times – 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm depending on number of teams registered
  • $270 team fee or $20 Individual fee

Ballet/Jazz Classes ($)

The City is excited to partner with EPIC Center for Dance to offer satellite classes in ballet and jazz to children ages 2 to 13 AND adults ages 18 and older.

Owner Brandy Robertson, is not only a life-long dancer, but has a list of professional credits and experiences dating back to college. For the past twenty years, Brandy has expanded her passion for the art by passing her knowledge and skill onto younger generations. She is passionate about continuing education and attends annual conferences and seminars to hone her craft and teaching skills. Brandy is excited to bring the heart of EPIC Center for Dance to Rosenberg, and believes that dance is a valuable addition to any life and the surrounding community! Interested participants need to register and pay each month at the Rosenberg Civic Center. Dance classes are available on a monthly basis, and registration expires at the end of each month.

  • TINY TOTS  –  Ages 2-3 / $35 per month
    • Monday  4:20-4:50 pm  Parents must remain in the building during Tiny Tot classes
    • Wednesday  4:45 to 5:15 pm  Parents must remain in the building during Tiny Tot classes
  • PRE-BALLET  –  Ages 4-6 / $40 per month
    • Monday  3:30 to 4:15 pm
    • Monday 5:00 to 5:45 pm
  • BALLET/JAZZ  –  Ages 5-9 / $45 per month
    • Monday  5:45 to 6:45 pm
  • HIP HOP/JAZZ  –  Ages 6-10 / $40 per month
    • Wednesday  4:00 to 4:45 pm

Yoga Classes ($)

The Parks Department offers Yoga classes under the certified instruction of Rachel Reyes. Rachel obtained her certification through the Yoga Institute in Houston and has been practicing for over thirteen years. During class, Rachel will safely guide you through various yoga sequences and variations to strenthen and stretch the body, as well as relaxation posture and techniques to help close out your practice. The classes are open to all fitness levels, so come try a class and see what Yoga can offer you physically and mentally!

Interested participants need to register and pay per month at the Rosenberg Civic Center. Yoga classes are available one month at a time, and registration expires at the end of each month. Classes are $35/month for one class per week or $60/month for both classes each week. We offer yoga on the following days:

  • Monday from 4:00-5:00 pm (slower-paced class)
  • Wednesday from 4:00-5:00 pm (slower-paced class)
