Animals for Adoption

The best way to see what animals are currently available at any given time is to visit the Shelter during operating hours. Rosenberg Animal Control is a small agency, and tries to have someone at the shelter as much as possible. Should you visit the shelter and the door is locked, please leave a note, or call (832) 595-3490 and leave a voice mail and we will contact you as soon as possible.

Rosenberg Animal Control Adoption Procedure

Rosenberg Animal Control does not have an on-staff veterinarian. Animals are cared for and treated by the animal control staff. There is no guarantee on the health of any animal adopted from our agency. The staff will let you know, to the best of their observations, if the animal is an acceptable pet for younger or older family members.

After an animal is considered abandoned, it can be adopted. 72 business hours must have elapsed before the animal can be adopted. Animals four (4) months of age and older will not be released directly to the new adopters. They will be taken the next business day (after payment of applicable fees) to a veterinarian for sterilization and a rabies vaccination. The animal can then be picked up by the new adopters at the end of the same day from the veterinary clinic.

Animals under four (4) months of age can be adopted, however, the adopters must provide proof that the sterilization and rabies vaccination have been completed by the date assigned on the adoption contract. Failure to provide this proof as described by state law will cause a citation to be issued to the adopting party.
