In the overnight hours of Monday, March 9, Kwik-Kar Lube & Tune, 3000 1st Street, was burglarized. Workers arrived and found someone had broken out a window to the business. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the business.

Security footage showed a subject approach the rear of the building, smash a window and then enter the business. Within a very short period, the suspect goes directly to the office, grabs the money and leaves. Based on the quick actions of the suspect, it was believed he had previous knowledge of the money’s location. The suspect was possibly thought to be a current or former employee.

While reviewing the video footage, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Edgar Linares, 40, a current employee of Kwik-Kar. Just before noon on Tuesday, March 10, an arrest warrant was issued for Linares by Detective Randall Leonhardt. Within an hour, Officers Brandon Moseley and Matthew Macias located Linares and placed him into custody for the warrant. Linares was arrested for Burglary of a Building, a State Jail Felony, and placed in Fort Bend County Jail with a $15,000 bond.
