Two Subjects in Custody for Trespassing and Firing Weapons at a Lamar Consolidated ISD Campus

At approximately 8:11 AM this morning, Rosenberg Police Department and Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a subject with a gun at William Velasquez Elementary, located at 402 Macek Road in Richmond, Texas.

Witnesses reported that a subject on top of Velasquez Elementary firing off rounds at an unknown direction. Upon arriving, officers detained two subjects. Both subjects were taken to the Rosenberg Police Department and interviewed by Detectives. One subject was determined to not have been involved in the incident, and was later released. The other subject, Christian Pieper, 20 years old from Richmond, was placed into custody. Several charges are currently pending.

No injuries occurred during the incident, though some property damage to the school was discovered.

Pieper was in possession of a handgun used in the incident which was later reported stolen to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department.

Though the incident happened on a school campus, it is not believed that at this point the Pieper’s intent was to target the school or students.
